Could racism be the culprit?

What if things were switched around? Think about it. Would the country's
collective point of view be different? Could racism be the culprit????

What if the Obama's had paraded five children across the stage,
following the debate, including a three month-old infant and an unwed,
pregnant teenage daughter?

What if John McCain was a former president of the Harvard Law Review?
What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of his college
graduating class?

What if McCain had only married once, and Obama was divorced? What if
Obama had met his second wife in a bar and had a long affair while he
was still married?

What if Michelle Obama was the wife who not only became addicted to pain
killers but also acquired them illegally through her charitable
organization?

What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard?

What if Obama had been a member of the Keating Five? (The Keating Five
were five United States Senators accused of corruption in 1989, igniting
a major political scandal as part of the larger Savings and Loan crisis
of the late 1980s and early 1990s.)

What if Obama couldn't read from a teleprompter?

What if Obama was the one who had military experience that included
discipline problems and a record of crashing seven planes?

What if Obama was the one who was known to publicly display a serious
anger management problem?

What if Michelle Obama's family had made their money from beer
distribution?

This is what racism does. It covers up, rationalizes and minimizes
qualities in one candidate and emphasizes negative characteristics in
another when there is a color difference.

And consider the candidates' educational backgrounds:

Barack Obama: Columbia University - B.A. Political Science with a
Specialization in International Relations. Harvard - Juris Doctor (J.D.)
Magna Cum Laude

Joseph Biden: University of Delaware - B.A. in History and B.A. in
Political Science.
Syracuse University College of Law - Juris Doctor (J.D.)

John McCain:United States Naval Academy - Class rank: 894 of 899

Sarah Palin: Hawaii Pacific University - 1 semester North Idaho College
- 2 semesters - general study University of Idaho - 2 semesters -
journalism Matanuska-Susitna College - 1 semester University of Idaho -
3 semesters - B.A. in Journalism (Sports Broadcasting)

Education isn't everything, but this is about the two highest offices in
the land as well as our standing throughout the world. You make the call.

ENGAGEMENT SESSION TEASER PIC

So today was the first of our engagement sessions with the one and only JACOB BERGMEIER of NoDo Photography!!! It was an early start (we had to get up at 6am on a Sunday, that is a big deal for us lol) but so worth it! We started out at Starbucks (mmm... caramel apple cider... mmm) and then we were off. We did our shoot in New York. I know we were in Cold Springs for some of it but we drove all over and Jake stopped wherever he saw a sweet scene. I'm not going to lie it was a little chilly out (nothing like doing a trash the dress session in February with nothing but a strapless wedding gown on laying in the snow... thanks Megan lol) We had a ton of fun with Jake and cant wait for another engagement session! Jake we will be your models any time!!! We were not home for more than an hour or two and Jake called telling us we had to check out his blog because he had posted a teaser picture for us! He was so excited it was too cute! Obviously we LOVE the first and are SOOOO excited to see the rest! Jake thanks for an awesome morning! Hope your open house went well today! Check back for more pictures soon!

5K Lymphomathon

Willy Woka is in the baby blue shirt :)

The Kappa's for a Cure Team!

Just the Kappa's

Me, my co-worker Meg, and a few of my sisters participated in a local Lymphomathon today. I know how ridiculous this sounds but my legs are killing me lol. How lame is that!?! We raised the 5th highest amount of money out of all the teams that participated which was awesome! We raised $820.00! Pretty sweet if you ask me! We all arrived at Cove Island Park in Stamford at about 9:30 to get ready for our walk. To our surprise while we were getting ready to walk we saw none other than... WILLY WONKA HIMSELF!!! Yes thats right... Gene Wilder was walking at our event which was pretty neat. We wanted to go talk to him but he was busy taking pictures and talking with his team members so we didn't want to bother him. It was pretty neat to see him in person though! I am proud of all my girls who helped raise money and walked with us this morning! Also a BIG thank you to everyone that donated money, we couldn't have done it without you all!

Animals!

Lexie still thinks she is a little puppy dog!

Alyssa & Cash

My Mama

I got to spend the whole day on Saturday with MY MAMA! We started out our morning at the salon! I gave her a homemade gift certificate to get her hair cut for mothers day oh so long ago so we finally went to use it. Me, Elyse, and my mom all got our hair cut by the AMAZING Dawn! Then me and my mommy just hung out. It was so much fun! We ran some errands and walked around the green. It was so nice and relaxing. Later in the day we met up with Michael and my brother for his birthday dinner at The Cookhouse in New Milford. It was so yummy. We had a great day and these are a few pictures I took of my mommy throughout the day :)

Elyse, Mommy, and Dawn!

Flashing her baby blues :)

Playing in the willow trees!

See me?

New Milford Connecticut

I went home for the weekend to visit the family and couldn't help but take some pictures while I was there. These are just a few I got in good old New Milford.

HAPPY OCTOBER FIRST!

Another one of my "cute quirks" similar to the whole half birthday thing (although Michael doesn't call them that) is that I love the first of every month! I don't know why but ever since I was little my mom made sure to say HAPPY (insert month here) FIRST!!! As I grew up it became more of a fun competitive thing. We would both try to be the first to wish the other happy first of the month. It has since become a down right dirty competition! We have done things as crazy as...

- Setting our alarms for 12:01 so we can run into the others room and wake her up whispering... I WON hehehe!

- Leaving notes on each others alarm clocks saying Happy 1st... so its the first thing she sees when she wakes up!

- Changing our voice mail so it says " Just so you know you are not winning by calling me right now because guess what... Happy 1st"

We are two crazy girls! (Now everyone knows where I get it!) There have been numerous times where I will get a voice mail and all I can make out is... Happy... and then the laughter ensues... nothing but giggling. Then she will try to compose herself and tell me again but just cant even get the words out before she busts out laughing again! It is quite entertaining. I have made friends listen to the messages and they think we are crazy (which we are) but at least its a good crazy! Michael refuses to take part in the first of the month craziness but he does always get a cute little smirk on his face when he thinks I forgot and then at 11:50pm out of nowhere... HAPPY FIRST OF THE MONTH MICHAEL! (He secretly loves it)

Anyways... HAPPY OCTOBER FIRST EVERYONE! (and mom... in Internet world I totally won today!)
