I don't know about you but I don't like seeing options for evacuation routes when I go to check the weather!
All of the grocery stores were like ghost towns the day before Irene hit. We asked people at Target if they had any water left and they told us they were out of water but "Capri Sun is the new water", who knew.
We bought our supplies and hunkered down for the night. We did what anyone would do during a hurricane... ate junk food and played monopoly!
We were VERY LUCKY! We didn't get much damage at all around me. 85% of my town was without power but we never lost ours! 95% of the town where I work was without power... but of course my office is lucky enough to have a generator! It did take me a few tries to get to work and I did have to drive under a few downed trees and power lines but I made it.
I sure hope our gas stations and grocery stores get power back soon. It's hard to shop for dinner when you can only buy non perishable items. Its also hard to buy gas when they only accept cash...
Some people have been saying that the end of the world is coming. We had an earthquake this week and now a hurricane is on its way. I said once I saw the locust I would consider that it might actually be the end of the world. We don't have locust but this guy did hop across my LIVING ROOM floor this morning!?!? Hmm...
My nephew Bentley was born today and I could not be more excited! I am so proud of my brother, he is such a great daddy already! From what I hear baby and mama are doing well. I can't wait to meet my most favorite nephew!!! Auntie Sha Sha loves you more than you know Bentely!!!
Michael and I had to go to a birthday party for out cool neighbor friends. We bought them some pretty sweet presents and had to try them out before we handed them over. I think they looked pretty good on us... but they look better on the boys :) Happy Birthday Jackson & Logan!
Visited my Loren in Dallas this past weekend. It was SO great seeing her! I really wish we lived closer but it makes the visits we do have much more fun :) We had a blast as always! I love visiting my girl Loren but will be sure to NEVER got back in the peak summer months! 109 degrees is a little hot for me... just a little! LUMUHUKU Loren!
