Christmas self portrait

Yep this is what I do at work when I am bored and want to take pictures of myself!

Night time

The other night I was walking inside and the sky looked so cool I had to grab my camera and run out and take a few shots! I realize none of these pictures are that good but you get the idea... it was so bright out it was crazy!

I guess I was on the nice list this year!

Boy was Santa good to me this year! These are just a few of the sweet treats I got for Christmas...

These are some of the goodies my mommy put in my stocking this year. Yes thats right my mommy still makes me a stocking. Ever since my brother and I were little one of our favorite parts of Christmas was opening our stocking. See when we would wake up at the crack of dawn on Christmas morning the only thing we were allowed to touch before my mom got up was our stocking. And it was always packed with all sorts of goodies. This years goodies included a sweet pez dispenser, some Chinese finger traps, popcorn balls, earrings, a new toothbrush, and flossers.

Apparently I have some of my coworkers fooled. They think for some reason that I am a good cook. Actually maybe they know I am not and that is why one got me all these cooking goodies. My kitchen is now stocked with measuring cups, mixing bowls, and recipe boxes.

One of the most thoughtful gifts I got was from Michael's little sister Alyssa. She got me a book about a girl who liked photography because I am in fact a girl who likes photography! How cute is she!!! The best part is how excited she got about it before she gave it to me. I was so touched that she thought of me!

I'm not going to lie, I was a little nervous at first that I would have to return my book to the library once I was done reading it. But Alyssa assures me that the library said she could keep the book... I hope so at least...

I saved the best for last... Michael got me my sweet new tripod! I didn't even tell him which one I wanted or that I even wanted one at all but he knew!!!

I LOVE IT and I can't wait to take it out and really play with it!

This is half and half. Half a present from a coworker, my sweet new colorful scarf. And half I stole... Aaron & Andrews sweet new album Pictures and Words! (Don't worry guys I will pay you back for the album I stole) If you have not heard it yet you should definitely check it out!

I hope Santa was as good to ya'll as he was to me!

Mmm...

This year I decided to try my hand at making various treats for friends and family instead of just giving store bought presents. Two of my favorites are below...

Come on... how good does that popcorn look!!!

I also made these cute little "Christmas Eve Mice Cookies" which the one and only Miss Tina Sue gave me the recipe for.

These mice almost looked too good to eat... almost!

Someone sent me this video in an email a while back and I thought it was incredible! If you have a few minutes please take a look. If I am every having a rough day or feeling like nothing is going right I try to watch this video and it helps to put things in perspective! You've got to see it! It is really life changing!

I AM FLIPPIN' COLD!!

I just wanted to paint a picture for you... Both me and my fiance are sitting on our couch cuddling together... not to be cute because we love each other (which we do of course lol) but to share body heat. We both have on our FREAKING winter jackets, big fleece blankets, 8 layers of clothes, our warm fuzzy slippers, and yes I am wearing a scarf. Did I mention were SITTING ON OUR LIVING ROOM COUCH!!! WTF! ITS FREAKING FREEZING IN HERE MAN!!! I can literally see our curtains blowing with the breeze, real flippin' nice! I think I saw my breath while eating dinner too. SUMMER WHERE ARE YOU???

These are a few of my favorite things...

Elyse, Sara, & I decided to venture out to down town Stamford one day this past summer to check out all the fun statues they had. I told them to look serious next to the farmer couple and this is what I got...

When we were posing with our girl Marilyn this car full of little old ladies drove buy and started clapping and honking at us. They couldnt get enough of us, obviously neither could we!!!

Playing in traffic

I was trying to get some pictures of our first "real snow" the other night but it was just not working. So I decided to play around with the car lights instead. The last one is a cop car that drove by at just the right time! I know none of these are great quality pictures but they were fun...

JK's anyone?

JK’s looks like any modern fast-food restaurant, but photographs on the wall tell another story: decades of weenie history. The nostalgic black-and white pictures show JK’s with its hot-dog sign hanging over Main Street many years ago; interior pictures show a spic-and-span diner that has served the Hat City’s working-class clientele since the 1930s.

Anybody who's anybody knows about JK's! I grew up going to JK's. I chose to go to Western Connecticut State University simply because of its proximity to JK's... okay that part is not entirely true but luckily for me they are in the same town! Now that I live all the way in Stamford and my fiance is a health nut I don't get to JK's as often as I would like. Well this weekend was my moms birthday and that is where she wanted to go for her birthday dinner!!! We could not have been more excited. They have the most amazing "Texas hot wieners" in the world! They also have quite tasty clam chowder. Really anything you get there is great! So if you are ever in the Danbury area make sure to swing by JK's for some good dogs!
